Arrival routes are established in accordance with ESKS 4-9
through ESKS 4-11.

2. Outbound IFR traffic within Sälen TMA/CTR
Departure routes are established in accordance with
ESKS 4-5 through ESKS 4-8.

4.1 Two-way radio communication
Exemption from two-way radio communication is not
accepted.

4.2 Communication failure
Aircraft shall follow the procedures laid down in ENR 1.3.

4.3 Shared TWR channel outside hours of TWR
Vehicles on the maneuvering area are on the same TWR
channel as aircraft to enhance pilot and vehicle driver
awareness.

All other times there is G-air on the Swedish side of the airspace and G/RMZ on the Norwegian side of the airspace.

Parts of TMA and CTR are located in Norway FIR.
The border for Norway FIR goes just northwest of THR 19.

General information
The nearest airport is Mora / Siljan Airport, located approximately 85 km southeast of Sälen Airport. There are no other small airfields in the immediate area on the Swedish side. Neighboring sectors in Sweden are controlled by ATCC Stockholm (LFV) and neighboring sectors in Norway are controlled by Oslo ACC (Avinor Flysikring AS).

On the Norwegian side there are two smaller airports, Trysil Sæteråsen and Ljørdalen. VFR must be flown between these two airports at about 4000 ft AMSL. This applies in addition to traffic with light aircraft, gliders, parachuting and advanced flight (VFR) which is conducted on Trysil Saeteråsen.

The airspace around Sälen TMA is uncontrolled up to FL95 on both the Swedish and Norwegian sides of the national border.

There are two R areas in the area, R13 and R200
R13 is located in the north.
R200 is located in the southern part of Sälen supplementary TMA and is a restricted area for gliding that can be activated between 15 May and 15 September up to FL195.
